Kitchen Remodel . . . Fresh Start

First - he bought my dream house - a cape cod cottage smack in the middle of the most charming neighborhood in all of Provo!
Second - even with all of its charm, our abode lacked a functional kitchen in which to bake bread and casseroles - necessary and cathartic skills for any mormon wife and mother. So we decided to garner all of our collective courage, move into my parent's basement and gut the yellow formica and linoleum clad room!
Third - Jared and I have similar taste, so I guess it wasn't too much of a sacrifice to let me pick out cabinets, fixtures, appliances (which we got at an outlet store - saving well over $4,000), granite - yes, even the kitchen sink (and faucet). Loves to you Jared!
Fourth - we both put in plenty of hours, day and night to make this dream a reality - but kudos to my husband who took the project in hand and scheduled everything from the electrician (and those insane permit fees) to the walnut wood flooring delivery.
Fifth - I can count on one hand the times that we have eaten out since our remodel! Needless to say, the mama is thrilled to be serving up healthy tasty meals for our little brood! MMMMM so satisfying!
Talk about Dreams coming True - See for yourself!
Now - How about some Fall Landscaping??

Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Over Memorial Day our family went to Jackson Hole for three days. We stayed at the Snow King Resort condos called Love Ridge - the name could not have been more fitting! Lots of love in this group! We enjoyed the gorgeous mountain scenery in Jackson as well as on the drive to Wyoming. Our condo was immaculate and fully equipped with everything we needed - including a master bedroom and jacuzzi tub for mom!
Enjoy these photos of our little cowboy and rodeo queen cowgirls!
Sydney's Birthday
WOW! We have a five year old! Sydney has been quick to let everyone know that she is now five and can do everything her sister can do. These photos show a little bit of the magic that follows our Sydda kidda everywhere! She is my little witty pixie girl who requested a "Charlie and Lola" birthday party. For those of you who know Charlie and Lola from the BBC (now on Disney Channel) you will immediately see the resemblance.

Family Wedding Pics
We recently attended Jared's cousin's wedding reception at Millenial Falls and couldn't pass up the chance for some candid photos. As usual Quin and Syd acted like they had just stepped into the Secret Garden and Anson was on a mission to escape from all confinements and run run run.

Heber Valley Camp
What handsome happy campers. We spent last weekend at Heber Valley Family Camp. This is a gorgeous family camp in the foothills outside of Heber, UT. The camp is owned by the church and run by senior missionaries. Grandpa Gines was just released from being in the mission presidency at HVC and we were so happy to spend a weekend with cousins and grandparents in this beautiful setting. Anson was especially thrilled to try out the "Wheeler Wheelers" - a definite trait of his father's, who wanted, "a motorcycle and credit card" at about this age. Between hikes, treasure hunts, paddle boats and lots of good food and campfire s'mores, I think we will call this weekend a success.
